Our Technology
The Power of LoRaWAN
LoRaWAN is a long-range, low-power protocol ideal for connecting battery-operated devices to the internet. This open standard, governed by the LoRa Alliance, solves major challenges in the IoT ecosystem, enabling new use cases with its extended battery life and reduced maintenance costs. It uses unlicensed spectrum, making it easy for anyone to set up their own network.
LoRa vs. LoRaWAN
It's important to distinguish between the physical layer and the protocol. LoRa is the wireless modulation (based on chirp spread spectrum) that creates the long-range communication link, patented by Semtech. LoRaWAN is the MAC protocol and network architecture built on top of LoRa. It defines communication, security, and ensures interoperability, optimizing for low power and high capacity.
The LoRa Alliance
The standard is governed by the LoRa Alliance, an open, non-profit association of over 500 members, including industry leaders like Cisco, Softbank, and ARM. This collaboration drives the global success and interoperability of LoRaWAN across networks and operators.

LoRaWAN Architecture

The architecture consists of four main components that work together to securely and efficiently transport data from sensors to your application. It's a simple, robust star topology that eliminates the need for complex mesh routing.

These are the physical sensors and devices that collect data. They communicate wirelessly in a single hop to one or many Gateways. Designed for low power, they can operate for years on a battery. End devices fall into three classes:

Gateways act as a transparent bridge, interfacing the RF network to our backend services. They pick up LoRa messages from End Nodes and relay them to the Network Server over standard IP networks. We deploy both indoor and outdoor gateways to ensure robust coverage.

The core of the network, our server manages the entire system. It authenticates data and is responsible for routing messages, de-duplicating data from multiple gateways, managing security, and optimizing network performance with features like Adaptive Data Rate. If data is not for the network server itself, it is forwarded to the appropriate Application Server.

This is where your data becomes valuable. The Application Server is the consumer of the data, responsible for decrypting it and integrating with your business systems to provide actionable insights. Multiple Application Servers can securely coexist within the same LoRaWAN network.

LoRaWAN Network Security
Security is paramount. LoRaWAN utilizes the robust 802.15.4 standard (AES-128) and features a unique two-phase, end-to-end data security model:
Network Security
Ensures the authenticity of the device in the network. The Network Server authenticates application data over the network but cannot decrypt the application data itself.
Application Security
Ensures the network operator does not have access to the end user's application data. The Application server handles data decryption, keeping your information private.

Key LoRaWAN Features & Advantages
Our network leverages the core strengths of LoRaWAN to deliver a secure, scalable, and reliable IoT platform for various use cases, including Smart Cities, Smart Meters, and Smart Agriculture.
The network auto-magically manages Data Rate and RF power output for each device separately to maximize battery life and network capacity.
Communicate over long distances (up to 15 km) with minimal power, perfect for battery-operated sensors.
Low power consumption allows devices to last for years on a single battery, reducing maintenance costs significantly.
The network automatically optimizes data rates and transmission power to maximize both battery life and network capacity as it scales.
Designed to support large-scale deployments with thousands of devices connected to a single gateway, with a network capacity that scales by adding more gateways.
Allows for reliable message delivery with acknowledgements and enables remote device control and over-the-air firmware updates.
From Sensors to Service
Our LoRaWAN network transforms raw data from multiple sensors into a unified, visual, and actionable service. This multi-scope and multi-purpose information use allows for smarter decision-making across your entire operation.
